I can't pinpoint when I first became interested in taking pictures, but I can pinpoint when I fell in love with photography. It was in early 2007, while I was planning my wedding and searching for the photographer I wanted to capture the biggest day of my life.  As I browsed online galleries I found that there were so many pretty pictures out there, not just wedding pictures, but families, babies, pregnant women, soldiers, teenagers.  There were beautiful images of people of all ages, from all stages of life, and I wanted to be able to create beautiful pictures on my own. The next year, I received my first dSLR camera as a Christmas gift from my parents when we found out we were expecting our first child.  I couldn't possibly take good photos of my beautiful new baby with my old point and shoot camera!!  After he was born I spent my days on maternity leave posing him and playing around with a few of the different settings on my camera, but then he grew, and became more active and less willing to be my model for hours at a time.  After my daughter was born I had a very strong desire to learn all I could about using my camera to the fullest of it's capabilities and I've been obsessed ever since--reading, learning, and taking classes. I began shooting sessions in the Spring of 2011, and for the first time in my life, aside from being a mother, I LOVE what I do!

Why do I take pictures? It’s a simple answer really. Pretty photos make me happy. And being able to provide others with pretty photos that make them happy makes me even happier, cheesy as it may sound. I feel blessed to be able to spend an hour or two photographing a moment in time in other’s lives.

Besides my photography life, I am a wife to Nate, my very hot husband who works hard and plays harder.  During the week when I’m not shooting or editing, you can find me at home or at the park with my two favorite people in the world, Hudson and Zoe.  Without them I may have never had the courage to pursue my passion. I’m a lover of good food, good books, good friends, and good movies. I believe the kitchen is the heart of the home and it's always best if something is baking.  I cherish my parents for always being there for me, supporting and loving me, but not being afraid to tell me when I was and am wrong.  I love kids, their honesty, innocence, and unconditional love. But probably most useful to you is I love watching life through the lens of a camera, and capturing those moments that I hope you will treasure for a lifetime.
